Abel and Cole's Farmers Choice - Supporting schools

The Farmer's Choice was set up by Abel & Cole as a not for profit venture, with the sole priority of supporting London's schools in their efforts to raise much needed cash. Several of us at Abel & Cole have children. We know how hard it is to raise funds for a primary school; we also know how difficult it can be to persuade kids that eating healthy food is fun. We came up with The Farmer's Choice as a good way to solve these two problems!

The idea is very simple: each week, the school is supplied with bags of freshly harvested organic fruit and vegetables. Parents and teachers participate by signing up for a bag; when they collect it, they pay for the next week, so there is no hassle or wastage. The bags are very good value for money and prices start at an accessible £5. The school receives 25% of the price of each bag, and the organic farmers are getting everyone's support!

The scheme has proved to be a great success. Last year alone we raised over £90,000 for schools. That's a lot of apples being munched on the way home from school!
