The Zwilling J.A.Henckels Twin Select knives are styled on the Five Star range but have metal handles designed for comfort and to appeal to the contemporary chef. The ergonomically designed handle was developed following studies by the Fraunhofer Institute, linking handle design to the human hand. The result ensures higher levels of comfort and reduced fatigue.

Zwilling J. A. Henckels have been producing knives of the highest quality for over 275 years and are constantly striving to achieve even greater results. Always at the forefront of technology, special materials and processes developed by J.A. Henckles have improved steel quality, corrosion resistance and blade sharpness to a remarkable degree making them highly desirable knives.

The manufacturing process of each knife takes upto 40 steps, from the ice hardening process the steel undergoes right through to the precision laser testing of each blade before it is approved, thus making each knife a small work of art in their own right. Futhermore, J.A. Henckels introduced the Sintermetal Component Technology process (SCT) which allows different grades of steel to be combined to form a single integral piece. The three parts of the knife, the blade, the bolster and tang, therefore, are made of different types of steel, each of which is of the optimum grade for that particular part of the knife. No other knife manufacturer uses SCT technology.
