Richard Hennessy is made up of more than 100 of the most exceptional eaux de vie, some of which date from the early 19th century. Each one has been selected for its unique qualities. In 1765, Richard Hennessy laid the foundations of a priceless collection made up of his most exceptional eaux de vie. Since then, eight generations of the Hennessy family have enriched the Founder's Warehouse with their own contributions of the finest cognacs produced during their lifetimes. It is from this collection that Hennessy has created Richard Hennessy, as a homage to its founder. Balanced and complex, the rich bouquet slowly releases a succession of aromas that have built up over the years: vanilla, spices, pepper and delicately fragrant flowers. In the mouth, the infinitely refined texture reveals an extraordinary palette of flavors that blends spices, the subtle essence of ripe fruit and the finesse of oak.

In the 13th Century a member of the Mackenzie family risked his life to save Scotland's ruler, King Alexander III, from a charging stag. As a token of his appreciation the grateful monarch bequeathed the stag to the Mackenzie family where it became a symbol of valour and courage. The 12-point stag's head has also come to symbolise the regal pedigree of this rare Highland malt as it sits proudly on every bottle, the King of Malts. For well over a century a variety of fine Dalmore single malts have been crafted by a small band of local stillmen. In particular, on 21st March 1966, Col. H. A. C. Mackenzie distilled and filled to cask what has now become the Dalmore 40 Year Old masterpiece. Different woods, from American White Oak to the specially selected casks from the Bodegas of Gonzalez Byass in Jerez de la Frontera, all made their distinctive contribution. But most importantly, so did our Master Blender, Richard Paterson. Only his sixth sense judged when the balance between wood, air and spirit was perfect for creating a whisky this rare, this sensational. How rare? Only 1,000 bottles of this superb malt are in this, the first release. Orange marmalade combines with Christmas pudding on the nose. Faint notes of wood linger in the background. Brittle toffee and bitter chocolate combine skilfully on the palate with spicy orange and almonds. And the finish goes on forever. scottish whisky

The house of Delamain announces the arrival of 'Le Voyage', a rare and precious Cognac destined for collectors of the greatest eaux-de-vie. This exceptional Cognac is presented in a limited edition Baccarat decanter of which only five hundred have been produced worldwide. What makes this Cognac extraordinary is the blend of extremely old eaux-de-vie that has been nurtured in the famous demi-johns in the Delamain cellars. These glass vessels protect the ancient spirit that has matured into a veritable treasure. Such an elixir traces the history of Delamain and represents a living archive of the house. Whilst the labels indicating the grand age of the Cognacs have faded, the perfect seal of each demi-john has prevented any evaporation.
